About Ancestral Manoeuvres Ltd

Hello,

I'm Ian Bateman, the photographer behind Ancestral Manoeuvres.

Why Ancestral Manoeuvres?  A photograph is a moment of time captured and is able to be kept to look back on, by ourselves, and later by our decendants. Time is not friendly to photographs and standard photographic paper will fade and develop a brown tint (check your old family photos).

Our prefered paper is archival fine art paper, it is naturaly white whithout being bleached and is made from 100% cotton rag not wood pulp (it is the lignum in paper made from wood pulp that causes it to turn brown). It has a smooth non gloss surface that will not reflect overhead lights or window light. There is also a slight textured surface and a canvas effect availiable. When people see these prints they often say that they seem to have a greater appearance of depth than ordinary prints.

I believe that photographs like our memories should last forever, sadly nothing does  but this paper in conjunction with the ultrachrome inkset used in printing will ensure that your prints will last for several generations.

Of course if you realy do want gloss or lustre ordinary prints, we can provide those as well.
